Hi, I’m Nikolay Gerasimov.

I solve technical problems by applying advanced mathematical methods from classical optimization till modern machine learning. It does not make the solution more complicated than a problem - contrary, it makes it correct, robust and trustworthy. I do not reinvent a wheel and rely on well known and tested methods, but if I have to, I can go beyond them and make really cool things happen.

Sometimes to find a solution is easier than understand what the problem really is. The famious “42” answer is a classical example - to get a correct answer one needs to ask a correct question. This is my strongest skill: I analyze problems and plan their solution considering all risks, imperfections and limitations. I will not leave you alone with all of them, I develop solutions for others, not for myself.

I have worked in 3 countries, many companies and positions of physicist, HVAC engineer and programmer and it was not random - I have a perfect balance between theoretical knowledge and practical skills and keep on improving ones using others.

If you are looking for someone who just does the job without permanent employment hassle, bureaucracy and misunderstanding between project managers, engineers and programmers - I am your choice. I will be happy to help anyone who just has an idea but does not know where to start from. No need to be good at math - this is my job :)
